Variable Speed Drives - Overview

Motherwell Automation, in conjunction with our partner Vacon, offers a wide range of quality LV variable speed drives. The range of Vacon drives includes models which are IP21 and IP54 wall mounted, cabinet, liquid cooled and AFE and range from 0.22kW through to 5.6MW, with voltages of 208-240v, 380-500v and 500-690v.

By providing the end user with the means to regulate and control the speed and rotational force of an electric motor, variable speed drives offer the end user the ability to save significant amounts of energy. Not only does this have enormous economical benefits, but the environment benefits through reduced carbon dioxide emissions and reduced consumption of resources is also significant.

Motherwell can provide a fully integrated service, from our test and repair centre based in Osborne Park, WA we can provide on and off site test and repair of the Vacon VSD’s. We have a team of trained engineers for installation and commissioning to provide the total Drives package.

Motherwell are regularly engaged by their customers to provide solutions where Total Harmonic Distortion is a key part of the system, providing Harmonic analysis based on PCC.
