Proficy IEC 61850 Client Now Available! - Thursday, December 09, 2010

A new IEC 61850 Client is available for use with  Proficy SCADA products.  The IEC 61850 client is based on the Proficy Driver Server and provides connectivity to IEC 61850 based Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and is an international standard data communications protocol with several services aimed at all substation protection and control requirements.

IEC 61850, used primarily in power substations has a large adoption in Europe, Middle East and parts of Asia with a rising adoption in North America. The Proficy IEC 61850 client provides a native interface to Proficy CIMPLICITY as well as an OPC interface that allows it to be used with Proficy iFIX, iPower and other OPC based systems for Substation automation
solutions.

• Support for built in and custom data sets with both polled and unsolicited communications
• SCL file import
• File retrieval from device (COMTRADE)
