Motorola Releases New ACE3600 Software - Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Motorola announces the release of the following new ACE3600 software:

• M-OPC V3.10
• ACE3600 DNP Plus Master Driver V5.10 CD
• ACE3600 DNP Plus Salve Driver V5.10 CD
• ACE3600 IEC 60870-5-101 Salve Driver V2.00 SP1 CD

New Features:

It is now possible to update the Ladder application data base using the M-OPC Configuration Tool without reinstalling a new version of Motorola OLE Process Control (M-OPC).
2 new System Items are supported for each defined RTU:
Communication Status - Status of the last communication with the RTU (succeeded, failed or no communication queries occurred).
Last Update Time - Time of last communication with RTU (the count of minutes from the beginning of the current day).

Problems Corrected:

The M-OPC client receives a periodic OnDataChange event from the M-OPC server (according to the group scan rate) only if the M-OPC item Value or M-OPC item Quality is changed.
Installation setup - The password for the MDLC driver is clearly displayed on screen when entered.

Known Issues:

When the M-OPC server fails to initialize the MDLC driver, it displays the following message: "Failed to create OPC local connection."
When the M-OPC server starts, all items' quality are displayed as "BAD" until the server retrieves their real state from the RTUs.
When the M-OPC server is down and two clients or more try connecting to it simultaneously, the M-OPC might not start up properly and the connections may fail. Clients should connect one at a time to ensure proper connection.
