Driving performance in enterprise applications - Tuesday, April 29, 2008
GE FANUC Intelligent Platforms has released the latest Proficy Plant Applications upgrade with support for VMware virtualisation, Citrix remote desktop architectures, and Microsoft Server Clustering.
"Plant Applications v4.4 has new features, but it still delivers powerful reporting and analytical capabilities to track product and process genealogies, quality, and performance metrics on the line or across the plant," GE Fanuc production management software global manager Barry Lynch said.
The product's Model Configuration tools extend the power of the software's event detection and modeling sub-system.
Plant Applications v4.4 provides the foundation for extending the value of production systems beyond a unit, line or area of the plant to the enterprise applications of the business.
By connecting Proficy Enterprise Connector or Proficy Maintenance Gateway products into the events and information within Plant Applications, users can make plant and enterprise systems stronger.
"Our newest version of Plant Applications allows companies to leverage our experience of connecting Proficy to the enterprise while creating an environment to improve plant operations on a real-time basis. This is what enables true plant to enterprise transformation," GE Fanuc Software and Services general manager Erik Udstuen said.
