Fault Tolerant Computers

Fault Tolerant Computers are designed expressly for critical processes and operations where business continuity, continuous information access and application availability are essential. From entry-level to enterprise-class, these ftServers immediately bring the protection of full fault tolerance to GE Fanuc's Proficy software suite. Computer servers that deliver the highest levels of uptime are central to the business continuity strategy of many companies. The ftServer system is proven to deliver 99.999% uptime (less than 5 minutes of unplanned downtime per year) in real-world customer applications.

Product Details

Stratus Continuous Processing technology, The Smarter Approach to Uptime™, is built into every ftServer system. Every aspect of the server – hardware, software, and service – is designed to prevent unplanned downtime. Your enterprise gains superior uptime protection without the need for failover scripting, repeated test procedures, or any extra effort to make applications cluster-aware.

Lockstep technology

Replicated, fault-tolerant hardware components process the same instructions at the same time. In the event of a component malfunction, the partner component is an active spare that continues normal operation. There is no system downtime and no data loss.

Failsafe software

Our failsafe software works in concert with lockstep technology to prevent many software errors from escalating into outages. Other software issues are captured, analyzed, and reported to Stratus. This allows support personnel to take a proactive approach to correcting software problems before they recur. Even in-memory data is constantly protected and maintained. ActiveService™ Architecture

ActiveService™ Architecture

Stratus ftServer systems constantly monitor their own operation. Remote support capabilities – made possible by the system's ftServer Access Adapter and our global ActiveService Network – enable our service engineers to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems online more than 95% of the time. If necessary, the system automatically orders its own hot-swappable replacement part.
