CSense SPC+
As process variation is reduced across a plant performance should improve. CSense SPC+ provides useful information on process capability and actual performance that in turn can trigger medium or long term continuous improvement opportunities.
- Online real-time Single Variable Statistical Process Control (SVSPC) is used to continuously monitor key process variables across a process.
- SPC+ is a single variable statistical tool, in line with standard statistical, and control chart evaluation of data. This method is more familiar to people who have conducted statistical analysis, in particular continuous improvement and 6 Sigma initiatives.
- SPC+ delivers real time and historical statistical evaluation of Key Performance variables for the process. This enables a real time evaluation of whether the process is varying against its steady state operating control limits.
- Statistical analysis focuses on process performance / capability indices (Pp, Ppk, Cp, Cpk, etc.) control charts, and operating zone charts.
- It is structured in useful 'Tree Diagram' format that enables relative KPI's for given unit operations or sections of the plant to be grouped, facilitating effective drill down to determine potential sources of variation when a high level KPI is out of statistical limits.
- Drill-down reports allow users to quickly navigate to a detailed view that provides comprehensive statistics, performance / capability indices and control charts for the selected variable.
- The tool is highly complementary in conjunction with Cause+ multi variable statistical analysis which is more applicable for complex processes, where a simple single variable technique cannot describe the complex interactions causing the system upset.
A key factor for SPC systems is that they need to be supplied with cleaned data. Otherwise instrument faults, unit operations shuts etc would adversely effect the validity of the information. This is managed through a CSense data preparation and cleaning blueprint.
The primary focus is usually to provide KPI Trees for plant variables which have a strong influence on safety, environment, production and cost.
In addition reports can be configured for different operating levels (plant, area, etc.) and the information made available to users across the process to facilitate their rapid action if required.
